Meanderings with Trudy

Meander with Denise Love

Episode Summary

"Take each lesson with you." This piece of advice, and the encouragement to be flexible, come from my friend, Denise Love. She has lived a life with more than its share of challenges and yet is one of the most positive and resilient people I have ever had the pleasure to know. Her husband Bryce was diagnosed with MS in 2013 and every day poses different struggles with his health and mobility. She has faced multiple job changes through the years - she was a long-time employee of Blacks Photography and after they closed she landed a job running an art gallery and now works for a STEAM-focused (science, technology, engineering, art, math) charitable organization. With each change she has grown her skills, broadened her network of colleagues and friends, and reinforced her confidence in her abilities. She's also an active volunteer serving as the current President of the local Parrot Head Club of London, Ontario; she's a long-time volunteer at Museum London; and she is a former volunteer with the Haunted Walk in Kingston, Ontario. These and other activities have kept her not only busy but connected to people and community, which has made all the difference in her life. She shares her crazy story about lunch with the legendary David Mervish, and how travel has helped her cope through the stay at home requirements of these 18 months of the pandemic. We talk about living life to the fullest, and how trust supports being flexible in how we live our lives. This was a really fun meander; enjoy!
