Meanderings with Trudy

Meanderings with Trudy, A Soundscape: Herons in Stanley Park, Vancouver BC

Episode Summary

As promised, now that our rerun of the "Grief Unleashed" book review episodes are done, I'll be posting some soundscapes for your enjoyment. We'll glide together toward my new fall programming together, and these soundscapes will keep us company in the meanwhile. Enjoy!

Episode Notes

The Pacific Great Blue Heron is featured in this bonus episode of Meanderings with Trudy. Turns out, Stanley Park in Vancouver BC is home to one of the largest colonies of these majestic birds, worldwide. The babies had hatched, and the sound was unlike anything I’d heard! We were there in late May of 2024.

Stanley Park is an urban park, and so there is a lot of texture in this soundscape. There were lots of people walking with us, jogging around us, the usual car traffic, as well as buses carrying tourists around. Lot's here to hear! Enjoy!
