MwT: The PauseCast with Angie Arendt, on Hope

Episode Summary

Spun out of our episode on Expectation, we now turn to Hope. What is it? Why does it matter? How do I show up with hope, the kind that is realistic, not rose-coloured-glasses-y? It is a surprisingly hard thing to name, once you sit with it for a while. As we pondered this topic, we realized that hope makes all the other things possible – love, joy, peace, gratitude, belonging, community etc. Hope is an act of courage in this world today, with all the things that are happening – with war, with the effects of our changing climate on people's lives, with the ongoing reality of living with covid, with Reconciliation on our minds and hearts here in Canada… Hope is that spark of light in each of us, call it “sacredness,” that is core to being alive. What if its true that there is something sacred in me? What then? How does hope enter that mix? Big questions; lots of meandering. We hope you enjoy this space we’re tending, and if you have any comments or thoughts, please send them our way to meanderingswithtrudy@gmail.com.
